You can get some really cool looks by sponge painting one color over another. Also, I painted a room recently a dark color. Then I got a lighter color to go with it, and wadded up a plastic walmart sac in a ball, dipped it in the lighter paint. And splotched it all over the wall, which looked like polka dots with some texture to them. My 12yr. old wants to do her room lime green with hot pink dots all over. You can experiment with the plastic sacs, though, I tested on paper plates to see what looks I could get......looks neato.Designing ideas ... I Just need some quick advice please!!!?

Watch HGTV....it has amazing, cheap ways to decorate!
There are a few ways you can go. Combo's:

Of course you can go with the pink, add light green, %26amp; light blue.

Also: pink, yellow, green, %26amp; violet.

Also: pink, yellow-orange, blue-violet, %26amp; yellow-green.
this may sound lame, but you'll thank me later. you should stick with the giant polka dot idea, its great... BUT don't do pink on pink.. do pink dots on a cream colored wall. and change the polka dots size and shade of pink all around the room, not just two pinks- use four. that way, all of the pink shades of your accessories will match the dots. Also you must paint the ceiling the same base color as the cream wall (don't leave it white). This will not only look cute and fun, but it will be warm and inviting, just on the edge of glam. too much pink on pink is a design mistake. Then go to a big lighting store and pick out a new ceiling light with lots of crystals... even pink or creamy ones. You can find a great new light for fifty bucks and your dad can put it in. Picking out a new ceiling light really makes the room yours... good luck. and since you're getting to be an adult, maybe you should start using real artwork on your walls instead of posters. just a thought.
I don't think I would go with polka dots as they may get old fast paint the room white and then get a sea sponge and hot pink paint dip the bottom of it and dab off the extra paint on an old rag or paper then dab the wall it will look a little different each time but will be interesting you can even use two shades of pink if you like
i think it should be a pale pink with white trim
I would paint your room a light pink and then pick a wallpaper border in a theme that suits you to match your pink color scheme. Go to a paint and wallpaper store for that. That could go in the middle of the wall or on top. It really will look lovely. Or if you know someone who is artistic, they could paint a mural of the design of your choice on one wall..just lovely. Go to JCPenney.com and look at comforter sets for teens and they have georgeous sets with curtains to match for teens in your colors scheme; different shades of pink. Also domestications.com, searsroomsforkids.com., thecompanystore.com. You can have alot of furniture in that room. That is a very nice size room. I would have an area for your computer, I would have a lovely desk and of course dresser, chest and bed. Good Luck in your decorating.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I love pink! If this is fine i will design the whole room. Paint the door white with pink pola dots, then make one wall sugar candy pink with huge neon pink painted wooden letter spelling out your name...then get a pink or purple bedspread with crisp white pillows. Then get warn white and light pink window shades and some pink painted suncatchers. For a creative design cut thelegs of of jeans, tie one end stuff it with cotton, tie the other end (all with pink and white ribbons) and plop on your bed. Also buy glass coke bottles, and wash then, then dip then into white and pink acrylic and stick them on one of your walls (using shadowboxes) put fresh flowers (or fake) inside the painted bottles (it looks sooooooooooo cool) leave one wall white and frame baby pics of you and or memoirs surrounded by pink curly swirls or stencils!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope my ideas are good!
