Advice for presenting designs for greeting cards?

I design and draw ideas for greeting cards, i want to post my designs to production companies in the hope of them buying my design to print onto cards.

what is the best size and type of paper to use? Any advice on all aspects of this will be apreciated!!Advice for presenting designs for greeting cards?
Do the design on A4 paper, good quality paper (120gsm weight).

Make sure you do either do 2 designs the same (or copy the original to send to card producer) and put originals in an envelope and send it to yourself. Keep the envelope sealed. This is to protect your designs. If a company should use one without your consent you have proof that the design is yours and the date you posted it to yourself on the postmark. This would stand up in a court of law...good luck in selling your designs...;
