Argh! help! bit of a career problem, do i go into designing/art or into medicine? any advice?

you see, i'm in a bit of a dilema. i'm stuck between persuing a career in becoming a doctor or one in creative art and design. i'm going to be choosing my a-levels soon and i need to have some sort of idea as to what to do later so that i don't close doors to a certain career and choose wisely coz there aint no turnin back. as you can see i'm torn between 2 end of the spectrum. medicine or design. my heart or my head.


i really want to become a doctor so that i can help people and save lives. but then i really want to do designing and stuff because i really enjoy it and i'm good at that kind of stuff and maybe if i'm really successful i can donate lots of money to charity. however, i can't be sure that i'm successful and with the current economic situation, i'm not sure that the career is stable and may not be able to donate money, whereas, if i were a doctor, i'd have a stable job, and i'd be really pleased that i'd helped people and will be able to sleep at night sound(ish). but i'm not sure i can get into a medical career with all the competition thats about. i mean, i'm kinda good at chem, phys and specially bio, but i know so much more people tonnes better than me at science and want to become a doctor.


and i'm better at arty subjects anyway. but i'm so confuzzled!





my heart want's me to become a doctor because i want to help people


my head wants me to become a designer type person to earn money to help people.

lol for your alevels u can choose art as well as chem biology so that isnt a big problem. i have finished college and have met people who have done law and sciences two opposites and apparently he is now going into radiography (x-rays). c no 1 is sure wat dey want to do u will have to do some work experience and research in them career areas which u want to go in. n remember waeva u do is gna b a challenge so u beta b up 4 it.

those are two opposite ends of the galaxy-no guarantees you would get into med school and/or survive once you got there and you're talking twice as much school and 4 times the cost for a doctor - nursing makes good money - start your career a lot quicker - you would have actually have time to work on art part time if you already have the talent
