I do graphic design and I've never been interested in anything until I started doing logos. It takes me a while to design some logo and I still have to constantly look at different people's work for inspiration and ideas. Is that bad or ok?
Any advices? ThanksAdvices on designing logos?
That depends upon the degree in which you use others ideas to influence your own. If you are constantly repeating other people's ideas, than yes in a manner of speaking, that is bad. But not many ideas in this world are completely original. Every person gets one idea, and then puts their own little spin on it and leaves it for the next person to do the same. As long as you are continuing in this cycle you are safe.Advices on designing logos?
logos should be simple and usually one color.
using more than one color generally costs more when duplicating (like printing on shirts, hats, mouse pads, coffee mugs...)
you should make the logo in a program like adobe illustrator or other program that uses vector graphics so the lines are smooth and the logo can easily be re-sized without any degradation of the image.
look at the type of business, products, and customer base for ideas.
also look for ways to incorporate the logo into company or product names.
yeah it good but if you look at their idea, you can always look at what can be approved or make it look better. Should it be more colorful or more abstract. We all have to look at inspiration somewhere, I do the same thing. I look at posters, magazines, business cards, logos...etc.

try looking at some floral tribal models...maybe you will find something that you like ..... the tattoo looks something elfish to me .... you could go with a pattern like some runes and writings from LOTR(lord of the rings) ..... anything else i really have no idea. i think that the elfish pattern will look great :)Need tattoo advice! I like what you have now...but if you want something more I'd add some of 1 or 3 to it...up to the right left, coming out of the middle....i'll see if i can come up with something for ya! :D
How much do you want to add?
To tell you the truth, I like as is. I would just keep filling it in before I did any cosmetics to it. Simple can make a huge statement if it's bold!
I like Idea 1 and 3, but I think idea 3 is better. It's really nice. (:

I want to add more to the tattoo...here it is:
http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h270/l鈥?/a>
first of all, what do you think? I've been kind of unhappy with it for awhile now. I got it to cover a large scar but I think it just looks too scratchy and boring.
Would someone be able to draw up some designs to make it look better? I'm thinking of adding one of the designs in a lighter color underneith it in a gray color...or maybe some colored flowers and swirls (which I don't have a pic of).

Best answer would definitely go to someone who could draw up a design!! :o)Need tattoo advice! What do you think about my tattoo? Can someone help draw some designs to make it better??
I think the basic concept of your tattoo is decent. It's very simple but has nice flow. The execution of it leaves something to be desired. The outline of the centre shape is a little rough and uneven, and the shading is just blotchy and faded out.
Since a tattoo is an investment for life, I think you'd be best off finding a skilled tattoo artist, who will be able to fix up the colours in what you already have, and design a complementary add-on to your existing tattoo (and then tattoo it on you so that it looks good.)
There are lots of talented artists online (very few willing to work for free though), but tattoo artwork needs to be given special consideration, as what looks good on screen/paper might not work so well on skin.Need tattoo advice! use the last one it was the best. in my opinion. but in all actuality I dont really like tats.
Even though your tat might not be 'perfect' it looks rather cool. I see it as a very good base. You can do most anything with it. You can go with flowers, butterflies, or just stick with line if you want.
What you need now is detail sense what you have now does not.
Like someone said go to a good artist. I'd wait till' I had some money to throw down. A good tat can easily cost a few hundred dollars. But remember it is going to last forever on you, so worth the investment. You can get a cheap tat but it might not be worth it.eye color

Advice for a youngster wanting to work in video game designing?
I have an under 10 year-old son who has shown interest in designing video games. I know that since he is so young that the aspirations could change. What I am asking for is things that he could do now to starting working toward that goal in video games or computers. He shows a talent for drawing and (of course) enjoys playing on his Gamecube, Nintendo DS and computer games (Club Pengiun, Toontown, Adventure Quest, etc.) I am thinking along the lines of typing lessons, art classes (cartooning), computer programs or other ideas. Thank you for your help!!Advice for a youngster wanting to work in video game designing?
Video game industry now is as developed as ever. It is like any other product we have on the shelves now. It goes through all phase of production as well, such as concept, deveopment, marketing and testing.
What you want to do is take notices in watching your son in his interests. Such as what does he like to do? As you have mentioned, he likes to draw, does he spent long hours drawing or just quick sketches here and there? Does his drawings show a lot of characters, or scenes and backgrounds?
There are many specialized positions in the gaming industries, like a full movie production. Some of the positions in the development team may include:
Character Artists
Storyboard Artists
3D Modelling Artists
Background Artists
Production Testing
Scenario Designers
Game Engine Programmers.
What you not want to do yet is to overloard your son with all these technical jargons. But to overlook him and steer him in the right direction, helping him gather information and researches in these topics. As you have said, he might change his mind down the road.
But for now, test the water. Just buy him for some beginner's book and see how he reacts to them, or purchase some titles like RPG Makers on consoles you have and see how it turns out.Advice for a youngster wanting to work in video game designing?
I would suggest some books on world mythology - Greek, Roman, African. Designing games starts with a good story, and most of the stories I've 'played' have their roots in the same world mythologies, the human stories, the grand tragedies, myths of gods/goddesses and heroes. There are books of this type geared toward younger readers, with great illustrations (I had a few in my childhood).
And if you are a reader, you may wish to read some of Joseph Campbell's works, which deal with the mythologies of many cultures. It will give you an eye-opening view on popular movies and culture.
Best journey to you both-
